For Vicky On March 5th 2006 at 1:00pm Vicky, Dog and companion extraordinaire breathed his last in Sarita Raghavan’s arms. With his liver finally giving up on him, the death was quick and fast. Buried in the PFA pet cemetery in Kengeri, he now shares a living space next to Richie. Dog and companion of another grieving owner. When I started writing this it was originally turning out to be something that if anyone, who knows me read would cry. But for the first time in my life I want this to be about Vicky not about me and how I feel. I want this to forever be the way I’ll remember him. The way he deserves to be described. The way he left his life. Sixteen years ago when he wandered off the streets and chose to live with us, I remember how small he was. A little mutt that always knew what he wanted to do. He wagged his tail when he wanted, he ate when he wanted to, he ate what he wanted to. We got him in a crowd where no one else had a dog. At a time when we all had a lot of time. This ...
Love is a Crapping Horse! I been wanting to write this for so long that I can't even remember too clearly what I wanted to say. I'm going to attempt to write this anyway, So there! At the outset I must claim that neither the statement nor the support is original. Quoted by Will Truman of the "Will and Grace" fame, it still is a profound statement. So why is Love a crapping horse you wonder? . Like Will says," Love is like being driven in horse drawn carriage on a moonlit night in a beautiful park. In the beginning it’s incredibly romantic but eventually you realise that you're cold and that you are staring at the butt of a horse that is crapping". While this analogy maybe true for some of us, I'm sure that is still percentage of the love population who will take offence at this statement So here is presenting a healthy comparison for and against this statement. Supporting this is easy. Compare 90% of all relationships in your life and I mean not just...
The Wonder years I was driving to work today and owing to really bad traffic in Airport Road, I was forced to take a detour through Cambridge lay-out. Now for the uninitiated, I grew up in that neighborhood. And today as I was driving past what used to be my house, I saw my old neighbor auntie who still lives in the ground floor of the building. Now, this auntie popularly referred to as Susheela Auntie, mostly because Susheela is her name and auntie because she is too old to be called anything else, I never really liked. She was a kind of mean woman who would actually tell me things like "Oh! I see you haven’t taken bath as yet. It’s all because unlike me who wants to spend time with my kids, you mother cares most about her work." Now I know this seems shockingly scarring but really for me it was like water off a duck’s back. Anyway so I started thinking about how it was growing up. Fortunately unlike Kevin from Wonder Years I didn’t grow up and then rape a girl at 16 but rea...
Reclaim your life.. Owing to personal professional tragedy of being in advertising and all . I'm more sensitive to new commercials on air. So when recently I watched this ad ( which I personally think is awesome) which tells us all to " Reclaim your life " .. well kind of got me thinking. Advertising hype and all be damend , is there some truth in this sentence? Have we stopped being true the people we are just because we are so caught up in this life that we have chosen for ourselves? I remember when I was 15, there was this day when I wrote down 10 things that I should have done by the time I was 25. Of course must admit here that someone of the wish list was ridiculous and included things like seeing Micheal Jackson perform live at the Wembley Statdium in London. While that no longer remains a priority, the fact is that I still haven't done it. 27 years old , in my fourth job on the last three years and as the years go by I'm lesser and lesser sure of what it i...
Is God a man or a woman? Well here I am again and this time to pondering over more profound and life altering questions than ever. Remember all those countless arguments about whether God is a man or woman? Well, depending on what sex you belong to, you always believe God has to the other . However, personally I believe God can possilbly only be a MAN? Why you ask.... Well for starters women got babies, waxing, eyebrow plucking, having to be thin, having to have great hair at any point of time even when you wake up, never have any normal body reactions like burp or fart in public (which incidentally is considered merely funny when a man does it), be a great conversationalist while having a smoking hot body and yet be simple enough to be the girl most guys want to take home to their mother( alteast that's what they all seem to want) and of course endure four days in a month, every month from the time you 13 to the time you're 60 when not only will it convince you that not just...
What's all this all fuss about Sex and the City? Last night over dinner at a close friend place, conversation was rather unstructured owing to the fact that there was 4 screaming girls okay 3 screaming and one quiet, , a irate advertising cursing her own boss type girl, a quiet interior designer, the calm corporate communications girl who incidentally had cooked dinner, her stunned into silence boyfriend at who's place the gala event was and of course me who had as usual been hit by a ton of work as I was holding my little black purse and trying to leave work. So here were representative of the standard youth age group ( exact figures I refuse to divulge), making what would be considered decent money in some countries like maybe Nepal having some rice, dal and paneer when the conversation moved to Sex and the City. The show that men watch for the sex scenes and woman for the clothes and the belief that one day we'll be cool enough to carry off some of the outrageous dialogu...
Here I am...finally! Turns out creating a blog isn't nearly as easy as promised. Or maybe in reality it is very possible that given my natural talent for making the simplest of things complications equivalent to algebra, that was happened. Anyway , blah blah..Here I am ...With my very own blog..Very excited about the sheer potential of it. Who knows maybe Microsoft will buy me out and I will share success similar to Sabir Bhatia and have the likes on Zayed Khan and Abhishek Bachan as part or my personal man harem. Hint, Allegations and things unsaid like the name suggests will be my space for ALL my grievances. Rest assured some names will frequent these pages, namely a certain Japanese who incidentally happens to be my boss ( Bridget Jones mother was sooo right when she called them a cruel race) and some maybe enjoy the spotlight a little less frequently . So onwards then.....
